Typically before a marathon weekend, I take the current medal on display in my office home, in preparation for putting the new medal on display the following Monday. This Friday I forgot to bring the Little Rock medal with me as I left the building. Friday afternoon, I visited the local witch doctor to get my [...] It was a tough day for Team Flash. Jason was kindly informed by the New York Roadrunners that he isn’t allowed near the New York City Marathon this year. That’s the third year in a row they’ve told him to not bother showing up for the race. But here is where is gets bad from [...] Team Flash descended on Little Rock, Arkansas this weekend to participate in the race weekend they planned for us (race tagline – It’s a Natural). Kathy ran the 13.1 distance while Jason and I took on the 26.2. This race was a nice change from our two previous marathons – Marine Corps and Disney. [...] As promised, some snaps from the Disney Marathon weekend (and one from eagle watching thrown in). Disposable camera so the quality is not exactly stellar, but there you go. Hover over the picture for [...] Jason and I entered the Goofy club this weekend, finishing both the Disney Half Marathon and Disney Marathon within the required cut off times. Kathy also brought home her medal for completing the half. Our achievement means that Florida has fallen to Team Flash in our assault on the fifty states. You can see our overall [...] The Marines threw a marathon and 21,386 runners finished. That’s what I call success! This was our first trip back to DC since we lived there thirteen years ago. Kathy and I flew into DC Reagan airport late Friday night. We got to the hotel and bedded down for the night. The next morning we hopped [...] Yesterday’s paper had this comic in it: Kathy commented that maybe the downed runner would be her – since she’s had the balky ankle. I said “No way! The DC area keeps a close watch on their strays so there is little chance that dogs would attack you after you can’t continue.” But that’s a seriously negative [...] Last week in Forest Park I was able to experience some very unusual musical entertainment during my easy 3 mile run. The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra was performing a free concert to kick off the 2009 Forest Park Balloon Races. Right next to the running path was a full blown 100 member orchestra belting out Bach [...] Jason, Kathy, and I made the trek to Dayton, Ohio for the USAF Marathon. At 6:00 AM Friday, I stopped the red luxury yacht at Jason’s condo and loaded him up.
